With lyrical precision, raw storytelling, and a lifelong commitment to the craft, this performance celebrates the power of Hip Hop as a source of strength, survival, and expression. Expect a set filled with original tracks, lived experience, and a spotlight on the often-overlooked heartbeat of the region’s local Hip Hop scene.About LS CAMP Ricky (D-Rock), Eric (Rocwiella) and Mike (Mike Malík)&nbsp; make up&nbsp; the hip-hop trio LS Camp and are part of the duo called ERIC N RICKY. All 3 were Born and raised in Springfield, MA. The earliest memories of&nbsp; music were listening to iconic artists such as The Jackson 5, Heatwave, Stevie Wonder, and Earth, Wind &amp; Fire.&nbsp;At the early age of 13, D-Rock aka The HEATMIZER, decided he wanted to become a hip hop artist after becoming heavily influenced by Cold Crush Brothers, Sugarhill Gang, LL Cool J, Mantronix, Run-DMC, T La Rock, Just-Ice, and many others who helped develop and pioneer the foundations of rap music. He dealt with a lot of adversity while being homeless in his early 20s but relied on the strength of the hip hop culture to get him through the tough times. He believes that the “age factor” is a tough obstacle to overcome, but meeting and performing on the same stage as KRS-ONE,, he feels, was his greatest achievement to date and more than makes up for the struggles. Everyone is assigned a role - will you be a common villager or a secret werewolf? The villagers must work together to uncover who is taking out the neighborhood before it’s too late.

Through satire, storytelling, and collaboration, their goal is to inspire connection and critical reflection. A founding member of the multimedia production company Free Pile Productions, Mo is the co-author of the Montague Reporter satire column True Love Will Find You in the End, and a co-organizer of numerous multimedia projects including Eggtooth Productions’ A Happening and the Far Out! Comedy Festival. They are currently working on a short story collection, and are in post-production on the absurdist transsexual short film Baker’s Boy which they wrote and directed. He has performed at prestigious venues such as The Blue Note, The Village Vanguard, Smalls, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Birdland, and at major festivals including the Newport Jazz Festival and the Greater Hartford Jazz Festival. In 2016, he was recognized as a rising star guitarist at the Wes Montgomery Tribute Festival in Indianapolis, IN performing alongside legends of jazz guitar such as Bobby Broom, Peter Bernstein and Pat Martino. Tony’s music seamlessly blends elements of various Latin traditions, folk, rock, and classical music into his deep roots in jazz, contributing a unique and compelling voice to contemporary music. He has recently led performances in Mexico, Chile, and Paris, and over the years, he has shared the stage with notable musicians like Anderson .Paak, Christian McBride, Joe Farnsworth, George Coleman, Abraham Burton, Sullivan Fortner and Harold Maeburn.In 2020, he signed with the acclaimed record label Posi-Tone and released his debut album, Golden Year, which features an all-star lineup including Dezron Douglas, Eric McPherson, Steve Davis, Alina Engibaryan, JK Kim, Steve Wilson, and David Bryant. “the night we rode,” Written and Directed by Mercedes Loving-Manley, is an intimate look at the night Teddy Pendergrass and Tenika Watson got into a car accident that would alter Teddy’s life as a performer forever. After the performance, there will be a community Q&amp;A/talkback. Born and raised in Dorchester, MA with a degree in creative writing and film, the stories she writes are worlds of reimagined urgency and possibilities for Black people. Her documentary film 'The World and Then Some’ highlights the experiences of Black LGBTQ+ folks from her hometown, a community near and dear to her. She describes her latest EP 'OOZE' as "mostly me remembering who I am and my purpose". Through her art, Mercedes&nbsp; explores the possibilities of community, romance, desire, and pleasure within, and beyond the lines of the inner city.&nbsp;Terrell James Jones - TEDDYTerrell James Jones, a Springfield MA native, is a singer-songwriter whose passion for storytelling through music and theater continues to grow with each performance. He made his acting debut as Monsieur D’Arque in a local production of “Beauty and the Beast” and went on to portray Benny in a local production of “In the Heights”. Terrell later joined two touring ensembles: First Generation’s “Tenderness” and Sandglass Theater’s “Babylon”, both of which deepened his commitment to socially engaged theater. He remains grateful to the mentors, friends and family who recognized his potential and encouraged his creative spirit.&nbsp;Danielle Davis - TENIKADanielle Davis&nbsp;is a Brooklyn based Actor, Model, Playwright and Poet. Don’t miss this delicious, interactive evening at the intersection of clown and drag. Whether or not you are an aspiring actor, there’s something for everyone in this zany acting class for the ages.Patric Madden is an actor, director, and experimental drag performance artist based in Western MA. They studied English at Brown University and acting at the Yale School of Drama. There will be food, music, dance, storytelling, and visual art.Tickets will be sliding scale or you can bring a potluck item as your cost of entry. If you elect to bring food, please label it for allergens and be prepared to bring home your leftovers. Bring your community and come together over the love of art and fill your hearts, minds, and stomachs.Hazel Basil is a multi-genre musician from Amherst, Ma. Through inviting self-love and introspection with her music, Hazel hopes to open more space for complexity, joy, and compassion. Since learning to play piano when she was 5 years old, Hazel has been entranced by the role of music as an emotional outlet. After coming out as transgender in 2022, Hazel felt an immense surge of love for herself, her community, and music which inspired her to begin sharing her music. Hazel’s songs are inspired by the unifying power of music and the barriers she has had to overcome in sharing that music with her community, and beyond. Since then, Hazel has performed at venues across New England such as the Parlor Room, Iron Horse, and the Academy of Music, bringing communities together in solidarity and strength. “Herbs and Grains”, her first album, is available on all platforms- and she has two more albums in the works.&nbsp;Entifan is a 23 year old creatively sensitive being from Orange County, CA. She incorporates a fluidity and soft power into her music, viewing songwriting as a means of healing and deep connection. As their name means “water,” they play with the duality of malleability and grand force in their music with experimental instrumentation and arrangements. Their work is, to say the least, emotional. With her debut EP “Claire,” she writes about her journey to comfort within herself and mending the love she carries for her inner child. Her music is not for the non-reflective and certainly isn’t for the avoidant.&nbsp;May Saito is a recent graduate of UMass Amherst and holds a BFA in dance with a minor in sociology. She began her studies under the tutelage of Rose and Charles Flachs at the Massachusetts Academy of Ballet, going on to become a member of the first trainee class at Tulsa Ballet in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a member of the Winnipeg Summer Dance Collective. As a multidisciplinary artist, May creates work that bridges the space between disciplines in the art world. She is an advocate for the inclusion of dancers of all abilities in the world of dance and looks forward to a career spent bridging gaps between people from all walks of life.&nbsp;&nbsp;Indë (they/he) is an artivist born, raised, and residing in Massachusetts. Their live performances are designed to build community and amplify marginalized voices, both present and prematurely past/passed. “My would-be role models are buried: Marsha P., Marlon Riggs, and Malcom X.” Indë’s upcoming album Role Model reflects on their experience growing up in the boonies of Western Mass without Black queer people to look up to, and uncovering their power as a radical interdisciplinary artist today.&nbsp;Muriel “MONIK” Johnson is a prolific educator, performer, and visual artist. As a child, Muriel would sit in awe as her mother recited nursery rhymes, sang songs, and told stories. This awakening of a storyteller hidden in the mind of a young child ultimately inspired Muriel. She has been storytelling professionally for over 25 years, captivating audiences around the world. Muriel has performed at preschools, elementary schools, museums, colleges, churches, theaters, festivals, and countless other venues across the U.S. She has toured Colombia, Brazil, and Peru, as well as Cape Town, South Africa, and Ghana, West Africa, where she has had the privilege of sharing stories, gathering stories, and making deep human connections along the way. Additionally, Muriel is a published children’s book author, veteran teacher, and creator of stunning artwork depicting ancestors made with butterfly wings. I appreciate the ordinary as well as the exotic or extravagant. The curve in a spindle, the patina of chipped paint or oxidized metal, the grain of weathered hardwood, bobbins, latches and all sorts of odds and ends inspire me to integrate a variety of materials, textures and color. I create something new with old and discarded relics. Over time things weather and change and this can be beautiful and graceful when brought together.My artistic journey revolves around the transformative power of reclamation and reinterpretation. With careful curation, I breathe new life into these remnants, crafting visual tales that resonate with both nostalgia and innovation.I aim to uncover the inherent beauty in the weathered and the imperfect, offering a fresh perspective on what is often overlooked. Each piece is a testament to the potential of discarded relics becoming part of a greater whole and being cherished treasures once again. I invite viewers to reconsider their notions of value and aesthetics.

All 3 were Born and raised in Springfield, MA. The earliest memories of&nbsp; music were listening to iconic artists such as The Jackson 5, Heatwave, Stevie Wonder, and Earth, Wind &amp; Fire.&nbsp;At the early age of 13, D-Rock aka The HEATMIZER, decided he wanted to become a hip hop artist after becoming heavily influenced by Cold Crush Brothers, Sugarhill Gang, LL Cool J, Mantronix, Run-DMC, T La Rock, Just-Ice, and many others who helped develop and pioneer the foundations of rap music. He dealt with a lot of adversity while being homeless in his early 20s but relied on the strength of the hip hop culture to get him through the tough times. He believes that the “age factor” is a tough obstacle to overcome, but meeting and performing on the same stage as KRS-ONE,, he feels, was his greatest achievement to date and more than makes up for the struggles. <h1>Puuluup</h1><h2>Presented by CitySpace and Secret Planet Live</h2><h2>October 4th, 2025 @ 8pm doors, 8:30pm show</h2><h3>NEO-ZOMBIE ESTONIAN POST-FOLK FROM THE TREES</h3>Palindromes are cool, no matter what language they’re in.The word “Puuluup” comes from the Estonian word for tree or wood: ‘puu’, and ‘luup’ is a fortuitous re-spelling of the English word ‘loop’. The beautifully weird Estonian duo of Ramo Teder and Marko Veisson do a lot of looping. They’re exponents of a Neo-folk talharpa revival with a touch of surrealism and happy absurdity. Talharpa — that four-stringed Baltic bowed lyre that looks so similar to the Ethiopian krar — has a traditional susurrus sound that, combined with effects and loops, creates a fascinating backdrop for their songs.The lyrics and melodies are a mixture of musical memories and improvisation, and the inspiration is drawn from Finnish jouhikko repertoire, Sahel blues, chastushkas and other elements from musical traditions around the world — Marko Veisson is an anthropologist who did extensive field work in West Africa. All kinds of random sources of inspiration are similarly important – unexpected excerpts from Polish TV series, old Estonian punk, and sweetbread from Vormsi Island.

Making Meaning / Marking TimeECA Invitational October 2025Cati Bestard and Michael MedeirosECA Gallery // October 4 - November 12, 2015In our 20th anniversary year, ECA is considering the passage of time and the moments that have marked our organizational impact, shaping how we look forward and project our aspirations into the future for arts and culture in Easthampton.&nbsp;In this spirit of marking time, we look to the work of artists Cati Bestard and Michael Medeiros, whose respective photographic and ceramic installation works animate this year’s ECA Gallery Invitational. Bestard’s photographs, which take advantage of the medium’s visual capture of a moment in time, show us something more partial and fractured. Having used outdated film from the precarious era of the financial crisis, the photo processing is incomplete and the materiality of the prints are evasive of something purely representational. The photos embody the instability wrought with time, layering eras marked with instability onto the likewise rocky present tense. In holding multiple temporalities, they undermine a sense that a singular moment can stand alone, and the common feeling that a photograph represents a scene exactly.&nbsp;Medeiros’ ceramic works and installation are inward-facing, reflecting on the passing of the artist’s father—a watershed moment in life—and how the impacts of his father's time in the Vietnam war inflected their relationship and its legacy. Ceramics, as an intensive and process-oriented medium, likewise holds time within it much like photography. Even the use of clay as material—old as dirt—carries durational meaning. It is marked by a handmade quality, imprinted by an artist literally in the moment of its making.&nbsp;Time is elastic, layered, and punctuated by events both personal and shared. Bestard and Medeiros each approach these qualities through their respective media and embrace the multiplicity of temporalities embedded within them, and invite asynchronous engagements that continue to develop.&nbsp;Making Meaning / Marking Time will be accompanied by events featuring performance, a time-based art form, to continue to expand on and offer additional layers to the works of the exhibition. Visual artist Amanda Barrow will discuss her exhibition “Conversations with Water” at the Elusie Gallery Immediately afterwards, musicians Carl Clements and Darryl Harper will ”Play to the Artwork”, improvising while responding to the art on the wall. For one hour, the two musicians will create a dedicated sonar meditation. What is shared with the viewer/listener is an experience which will be absolutely ”of the moment”.

<h1>Cathy Durso: What sparkles beneath my feet?</h1>September 6, 2025 - September 24, 2025Art Walk and Artist Reception: Saturday September 6, 4-7pmCathy is presenting an exhibition of paintings from her current, ongoing body of work, a series of oil paintings depicting magnified views of the ground. This body of work, painted in rich, bold colors with aesthetically-pleasing compositions, is intended to evoke feelings of wonder and curiosity about the natural world, and a sense of interconnection between all things.These paintings began as a result of her becoming a mother at the same time that COVID-19 was declared a pandemic and the first lockdowns began in the US. Being in isolation for so long with a baby-turned-toddler forced her to spend a lot of time looking down, rather than out at the world around her. This was an extremely difficult time for her, but it had a silver lining: it led her to notice the beauty and magic that had always been present right under her feet. As she began finding bits of time here and there to work in the studio, she started this series of paintings, which helped to pull her out of the deep, dark, insular pit that she had been in.

Blending original arrangements and timeless standards, the performance honors Black musical traditions while celebrating the vibrancy of live storytelling through sound.Chestina will be joined onstage by Kai Caban on bass, Jahian Cooper Monzie on drums and Matthew Mueller on piano.Chestina Thrower is a vibrant and soulful jazz vocalist born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised in Springfield, Massachusetts. Known for a voice that holds deep warmth and resonance, Thrower is quickly gaining recognition in the jazz scene for their distinctive tone and presence. Thrower’s musical journey includes performing alongside legendary saxophonist Charles Neville, and studying with jazz greats Charles Tolliver and Sheila Jordan. They’ve taken the stage at a variety of prominent venues, including the MassMutual Center, the Borough of Manhattan Community College, Holyoke Community College, and the Jazz in July All-Stars Concert at UMass Amherst. A skilled scat singer, Chestina draws inspiration from iconic voices such as Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, B.B. King, and Esperanza Spalding. Their unique blend of tradition and innovation continues to evolve, offering audiences a deeply personal and resonant musical experience.Delisio is a producer and beatmaker laying down hard-hitting, rhythm-driven tracks. He’s recently brought his beats to the Springfield Jazz &amp; Roots Festival and Make-It Springfield. Lynch middle school.&nbsp;She was also an accomplished artist, with a special gift for pastel paintings.Sadly, Nancy did not survive her battle with cancer. Her dear friend Maureen Cepiel came in possession of many of Moriarty’s pastels, and came up with the idea of creating a fundraiser to honor her legacy and talent, and to help two organizations that were important in her life: <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://chd.org/programs-services/community-care-support/cancer-support-services-springfield-ma/">The Cancer House of Hope</a> in West Springfield and the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.facebook.com/HalfwayHomeCatRescueInc">Halfway Home Cat Rescue</a> in Chicopee. Nancy loved cats and adopted several through this organization.This exhibit fundraiser will take place at the Elusie Gallery in August, with 100% of the net proceeds from the sales going to either one of these organizations. The Wedding Jester is a one-man show about the making of the film Fiddler on the Roof and the story of a badkhn, an emcee at Jewish weddings in the old country. It is written and performed by John Feffer, whose shows have appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe, the One Man Standing and United Solo festivals in New York, and locally at CitySpace and the Yiddish Book Center. It is directed by Josh Perlstein. The show runs appromixately 75 minutes, with a short talkback afterwards, and features original music. Taught and performed by playwright Jay Sefton. In this full-day workshop, Jay will share his story, learn about yours, and tell you how like him, you might turn a long silence into a powerful voice. Potts’ tragicomic journey is about looking for more, more love, more life and more family and will do anything to get it, including having her morals and values fold in on themselves.Potts comes to the stage armed with a larger than life hand cranked scroll of her own comic strips featuring the newsreel in her head. <h1>Passing The Torch</h1>A drag show fundraiser for Torch Song Revival<h2>May 30th | Doors 7:30 | Show 8pm | Tickets: PWYC</h2> In February 2024, the Easthampton Theatre Company put on a production of Harvey Fierstein’s Torch Song at the Blue Room. It was a hit, and a collective of artists involved in that original production are reviving the show this summer. To spread the word, raise funds, and have some fun, they are hosting a drag show fundraiser called PASSING THE TORCH. Please join them on May 30 at 8pm (doors at 7:30)&nbsp;at the Blue Room, the room where it all began, and enjoy an evening of drag, performance art, community, and camaraderie. Tickets at the door. Show @ 7:30 | All AgesWelcome back Koan for their second time in the Blue Room as they bring audiences a night of R&amp;B, Jazz, Funk, and more as a part of Carol’s Jazz Night.Formed out of a collective of young musicians who share a love and respect for the traditions of Black American music; Koan (formerly known as Interstellar Medium) makes music as a powerful framework for communal storytelling. Through their music, Koan seeks to tell their own stories and bring audiences into the expressive power of this artform through capturing the energy, beauty and poignant power of being human. Koan approaches each performance like a grand narrative weaving together their original music with arrangements which pay homage to the great innovators of modern jazz, R&amp;B, funk, and hip hop. They hope, like any good movie, this musical narrative will be not just nice to listen to, but will immerse all in the stories they have to tell.Koan began in the fall of 2024 out of their desire to play the music of the Second Great Quintet and Contemporary artists like Ambrose Akinmusire and Joel Ross as well as workshop their own compositions. The group quickly began collaborating with the vocalist Avery Joi and developed a genre bending sound during their time as the hosts of the Bishop’s Lounge jazz night. As a collective they also seek to support the projects and visions of all members. Koan’s first album came out in June under the leadership of Mathew Mueller. They recently released their second album, Ian Behrstock’s Tributaries and are beginning a series of shows in Spring and Summer 2025 to celebrate it.

<h1>Jenna Tibbetts- Urbana</h1>May 3, 2025 - May 28, 2025Art Walk and Artists Reception: Saturday May 3, 4-7pmArtist/Exhibition Statement: I am inspired by the shapes, colors and light of the sun shining on manmade structures. I also enjoy the shadows cast by concrete forms on the surface of roads, narrow lanes and passageways between buildings. Using the medium of oil paint I attempt to transform the everyday sights of walls, roof tops and stairwells into satisfying compositional arrangements (paintings).I enjoy using color, and gestural brushwork to depict the interplay of light on surfaces, to create atmosphere, and to suggest pictorial space. I also try to evoke certain emotional states of existing among different types of structures. My paintings are clearly situated in the Modernist tradition. I hope my paintings will speak to our shared human esthetic consciousness and condition. Bio: Jenny tibbetts has an undergraduate degree in Studio Art from Southern Connecticut State University, and an MA and MFA from UMASS Amherst. She exhibits her work regularly in both solo and group shows, and has received several awards for her work. She has taught Art at the college and high school levels. and has worked as a professional graphic designer.
