3 &amp; Friends features an eclectic mix of mostly instrumental music performed by aquartet of friends from Jacksonville, FL who have been playing music together for over25 years. Featuring Farris Nix (bass), Eric Brigmond (keys), Pete Winders (guitar) andCraig Barnette (drums)…this foursome is made up of some of the Southeast’s busiestsession musicians.Together and separately they have recorded music for Walt Disney World liveattractions, in addition to lending their talents to numerous recordings of local, regionaland national artists. Craig, Pete and Eric spent several years touring with surf/soulrocker Donavon Frankenreiter during which time they shared the stage with artists suchas Jackson Browne, Jack Johnson, John Oates, Ben Harper, G. Love and many more.Craig, Eric &amp; Pete currently tour &amp; record as a part of Mofro, backing Southern soulpowerhouse JJ Grey and can be heard on his most recent release “Olustee”.A typical 3 &amp; Friends show features not only the aforementioned quartet, but alwaysincludes at least one featured guest musician as well as spontaneous (and typicallyunplanned) sit-ins by various other musicians (aka “Friends”) resulting in what is bestdescribed as a “curated jam session”.Performing their takes on the music of such artists as Medeski, Martin &amp; Wood, TheMeters, John Scofield, Herbie Hancock and even groovy versions of jazz classics, thesetlist span various genres &amp; styles. You’re even likely to hear instrumental versions ofsongs by the likes of Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, or even Nirvana.Joining “3” as their special guest at The Bitter End (and filling in for Farris Nix) isbassist extraordinaire, Todd Smallie. Todd spent many years holding down the pocketfor the Derek Trucks Band, before also joining JJ Grey &amp; Mofro whom he currently toursand records with.
