Chris Gabo is a Colombian American Writer/Producer and award-winning playwright from Tampa, Florida with an M.F.A. in playwriting from the Yale School of Drama, where he studied under Tarell Alvin McCraney. The world premiere of his play "The Surgeon and her Daughters" opens November 23rd at Theater 154 and runs through December 20th produced by Colt Coeur.While contracted to an overall deal with HBO, he wrote the ‘Eladio’ series of episodes which starred Anthony Ramos in the Emmy nominated reboot of IN TREATMENT, developed two original series with producer Sam Levinson, and was staffed in the PARASITE writers room showrun by Enzo Mileti and Scott Wilson (“Fargo”) and was a Co-Producer on Season 2 of the Netflix series, MO. Gabo is currently writing a feature film for 101 Studios, following his feature for Elara Pictures (Safdie Brothers) and MGM/UA, a comedy pilot with Drew Pearce and Brett Goldstein for HBO, and an original series for A24.But music is his first and most passionate love.On December 9th he will be performing his new EP "Bad With Money" supported by a few soon to be announced special guest openers.The musical performances will be followed by a cypher DJ'd by Yonkers native DJ Dre Mayes of the Buck 50 Cutters.The Cypher is called "The Proving Ground" a segment popularized on his YouTube program "The Chris Gabo Show" in which Gabo freestyles alongside and against any and all emcees that wanna rock, after which the audience chooses a winner and the winner is giving a prize that does not suck.Anyone who comes to freestyle gets in free.
