Musical Style: JazzIn the past five years, Future History has created a vast repertoire of unique, singular music with roots in jazz and classical western music, middle eastern music, and expertly guided explorations in the timeless place of free improvisation. Their concerts and debut recording "Escaping" demonstrate their high level of technical expertise and creativity.The music for the evening will include new compositions from Art, selections from "Escaping," a new composition from Aaron featuring him on doumbek, "The Wedding" from Abdullah Ibrahim, "Reza," a peruvian folk tune from the archives of Lande/McCandless performances, and some spontaneous compositions.Art Lande is an internationally established performer, educator, and recording artist (ECM, 1973-93). His son, Aaron Lande, was assistant concertmaster of the Greeley Philharmonic, studied Middle Eastern percussion, and is a highly respected chef in the Denver/Boulder culinary world. Tim Wendel, a CU master's graduate (where he and Art met), has released his own feature recording Westward You (2022).
