This Wednesday features Spencer Krenz, Anna Elva, Scott Guberman &amp; Burt Lewis.This will be Spencer Krenz's (guitar) first time hosting a Ashkenaz Grateful Dead Night.Spencer is a 21 year old Bay Area native growing up in Mill Valley and now living In Berkeley in his senior year at UC Berkeley. Growing up in the Grateful Dead music scene, and now more recently being immersed in the California bluegrass scene, is absorbed by the rich Bay Area music scene rooted in Americana improvisation. Getting to play with artist at the Ashkenaz over the years and at various venues he has played with Anna Elva, Scott Guberman, and Burt Lewis (listed bellow) as well as Grahame Lesh, Zach Nugent, Alex Jordan, Joe Craven, and Bella Rayne. He's exited to bring his own interpretations and spirit to the table!Anna Elva (drums) brings dynamic energy and deep-pocket grooves to the mix, with a knack for psychedelic improvisation. Born &amp; raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Anna is a versatile percussionist with a relentless sense of rhythm. She is known for her ability to drive a jam into uncharted territory. Anna can be found on stage with some of the Bay Area's most notable jam/improvisational rock musicians like Reed Mathis, Stu Allen, Matt Hartle, Mark Karan, Joe Craven, Scott Guberman, Jon Chi, Alex Jordan and bands such as China Dolls, American Beauties, Smokedaddies, Like a Rose, Lovin' Dead, Jenerator and many others. Anna also performs the music of Phish, Zappa and Grateful Dead across the country with Marcus Rezak. She is the proud mother to Levon and honored to be director/drum instructor at Music Time in Livermore.Scott Guberman (keys) broke into the Grateful Dead scene at the turn of the millennium. He first gained recognition as a Hammond organist performing heavily with Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Famer and former Grateful Dead keyboardist, Tom Constanten; and touring with Grateful Dead’s final keyboardist, Vince Welnick. Scott began playing with Phil Lesh and Friends in 2015, most notably during the re-creation shows that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead. Guberman was also a member of Lesh’s band Communion. Now a staple of the Bay Area's thriving music scene, Guberman has played with just about every band and musician that’s a part of it. When not touring and playing across the U.S. with almost every professional band that plays the music of the Grateful Dead and more, Guberman tours internationally with The Gilmour Project and Live Dead and Brothers.Burt Lewis (bass) is one of the Bay Area’s top bass players in the Grateful Dead idiom, bringing deep-pocket grooves and improvisational fire to every stage. A vital member of Jerry’s Middle Finger, Like a Rose, and a frequent collaborator with Midnight North and Lebo &amp; Friends, Burt has become a cornerstone of the region’s jam scene. Known for his melodic low-end and ability to channel both Phil Lesh’s adventurous spirit and John Kahn’s soulful steadiness, he’s shared the stage with artists like Stu Allen and Elliott Peck.
