<h2>ABOUT MARK SHILANSKY &amp; FRIENDS</h2><p>David Thorne Scott (voice/bass) and Mark Shilansky (piano/voice) have been playing music together since Scott’s arrival in Boston in the late 90’s. They have collaborated as members of the vocal jazz group “Syncopation,” as well as on each other’s projects, notably Shilansky’s band Fugue Mill, and Scott’s recordings “Shade” and the newly released “Thornewood.” </p><p><br></p><p>Frequent collaborator and fellow Berklee faculty member guitarist/composer Eric Byers joins Scott and Shilansky on the Americana/Jazz arrangements of Shilansky’s “Fugue Mill” and Scott’s “Thornewood” (featuring acoustic guitar-laden takes on Cole Porter and jazzifications of John Denver and Townes Van Zandt), as well as straight-ahead jazz improvisation and interaction.</p>
