In its 32nd year, The Rob Mathes Holiday Concerts at SUNY/Purchase have&nbsp;been a&nbsp;tradition for a long time and this year in preparation for the weekend of shows at SUNY, Rob is bringing his all star band to The Bitter End for a two set Holiday show on Thursday night, December 18th at 7:30. Will Lee on Bass, Billy Masters on Guitar, Gunnar Olsen on Drums, the legendary Gospel and RnB singer D-Train, a ferocious six-piece horn section featuring veterans of the Horn sections for The Rolling Stones, Paul Simon, Nile Rodgers and Chic and Aretha Franklin including Mike Davis on Bone, Ken Gioffre on Tenor Sax and Tony Kadleck on Trumpet, and Rick Knutsen on Keys, this will be a rich show of original music, a few Dylan covers and a bunch of Holiday favorites.Rob Mathes is an unassuming, best kept secret in the music industry. The Emmy award-winning, Grammy-nominated musician, composer, arranger and producer has built a remarkable career over four decades as the magician behind some of the most celebrated musical performances of our time. His work ranges from Pavarotti and Friends Concerts to K-Pop Demon Hunters, the arrangement of Stairway to Heaven for Heart on the Kennedy Center Honors, the song he wrote with Sting playing continuously in the Sistine Chapel, his collaborations with Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie and many&nbsp;others. He has worked with Tony Bennett, George Michael, Elton John, Lin-Manuel Miranda, U2, John Williams, Yo-Yo Ma, Beyoncé, and countless others.Sting calls Rob his "lion" in the studio and Bruce Springsteen called him a "secret weapon" for his work on Only the Strong Survive and Western Stars. Urie asked Mathes to write original orchestrations for Panic!
