Boulder-born, Denver-based multi-instrumentalist composer Sonya Walker began her relationship with the piano when she was 5.&nbsp;Originally classically trained, she discovered her love of Black American improvised music by teaching herself trumpet, and eventually transitioned to exploring that tradition on the piano.&nbsp;You can find her all around the Denver area and occasionally beyond, playing both by herself and in various bands, mixed up in an eclectic set of projects.
