﻿A native New Yorker, Basil Wajdowicz (who goes under the name The Basil as a bandleader) was exposed to the music greats growing up in Manhattan and was hooked from an early age. Basil has gone on to have a career in music as a keyboardist for artists live and in the studio. He has also toured the US and Europe numerous times.He leads his own band every second Saturday of the month at the bar Filthy Diamond as well as an annual Friendsgiving show with Andre Cleghorn at the club NuBlu in which he has featured such guests as Casey Benjamin, Louis Cato and Melanie Charles.Some of the artists and musicians he has performed or recorded with include: Jennah Bell, Casey Benjamin, Bilal, Black Thought, Jesse Boykins III, Louis Cato, Melanie Charles, Curren$y, Devin The Dude, (members of) Dillinger Escape Plan, DJ Spinna, Syleena Johnson, Kimbra, Pedro Martinez, MeLo-X, Kimberly Nicole, Pino Palladino, PHER (Chris Turner), Q-Tip, Asher Roth, Stalley, Ski Beatz, STOUT, Styles PA special one-time performance and jam specifically for The Bitter End.
