K. Kinney. The series consists of pieces formulated by the movement in music (a form of synesthesia). Each piece is created by William's gesturals that are typically fast. William then allows time for each piece to saturate and slowly dry like a sea receding from land showing a passage in time showing the fractalization in the medium. His medium in this series consists of acrylic, ink, coffee, wine, blackwalnut dye, and butterfly pea flower dye. The Up and Down is emphasized in the mediums coffee and wine. Coffee is the Up part of the day and Wine is the down part of the day. William's personal family is in each piece with the use of Blackwalnut Dye derived from a tree his Grandfather planted over a 100 years ago.
