They deliver intimate, harmony-rich performances shaped by a decade of performing and traveling together, with easy stage banter that leaves new audiences feeling like they’ve known them for years.Both lifelong musicians, Shannon and Natalie are accomplished guitarists drawn to crisp, interweaving textures. Natalie is also a board-certified music therapist who teaches courses in music therapy, music psychology, and guitar, while Shannon is a two-time national thumb-picking champion. Marked by their signature “fresh-squeezed harmony,” their sound lives in a story-forward space inspired by artists like the Indigo Girls and Brandi Carlile. Their songs feel personal, a little playful, and are best experienced in a room where people are truly listening—but can also hold their own on a festival stage.The Shandies have opened for Mary Gauthier and Sarah Lee Guthrie and have also shared the stage with Katie Pruitt, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, and Handmade Moments. They were selected by the Springfield Sister Cities Association for a 2019 tour in Isesaki, Japan. Their song “I Won’t Be Back” was a finalist in the 24th Annual Great American Song Contest, and “The Bird and the Cage” was a runner-up in the 2025 Unsigned Only Music Awards and winner of the 2025 Original Ozark Folk Festival Songwriting Contest. They have released three full-length albums and one EP, with a fourth full-length album coming in Fall 2026.
