Winning Grant Applications: A two-part workshop series with Jed Blume This two-part workshop series will be facilitated by Jed Blume, a local musician who works as a freelance Organizational Development Consultant and the Director of Development for the Rich Earth Institute. The workshops will be offer an overview of the project design and proposal development with specific focus on two upcoming opportunities for artists: The Vermont Arts Council <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.vermontartscouncil.org/grants/find-a-grant/artists/creation/">Creation Grant </a>(up to $5,000, Spring ‘24) and the Arts Council of Windham County Town Art Fund Grant (up to $3,000, Spring ‘24). Participants will gain foundational knowledge and strategy for navigating and demystifying the grant application process. The workshop content will prove useful for any grant application whether for organizations or individuals.&nbsp; Both workshop sessions will be held at The Stone Church: 210 Main Street Brattleboro, Vermont. We recommend that folks attend both sessions as they’ll build off of each other, but they could be taken individually if preferred or needed.&nbsp; Please bring a laptop if you are able to, as part of the skill-building curriculum will be to complete some short writing prompts. Pricing: These events are ticketed: $15 for one or $25 for both.&nbsp; Session 1:&nbsp;January 31st 6-8pm&nbsp;Grant-writing Nuts &amp; Bolts: This session will focus largely on the knowledge and skills needed for beginning a grant application. Specific competencies covered during this workshop will include understanding guidelines, project design, developing a budget, creating goals, and avoiding common pitfalls. Participants will complete this first workshop session with an understanding of the process and content needed to get started on their own grant projects.&nbsp; Session 2:February 21st 6-8pmProject Development &amp; Personalized Workshopping: The second workshop session will go into detail about crafting competitive proposals for the Brattleboro Town Arts Fund and the Vermont Arts Council Artist Creation Grants. These two applications will be broken down section by section with strategy notes, technical writing tips, and budgeting considerations.&nbsp; A portion of the workshop will be designated for participants to ask questions and receive input about their own grant projects. Working in small groups, participants will be able to give and receive feedback and consider opportunities for collaboration with support from a professional grant writer.&nbsp;
