Please join us for a night of songs, in this historic atmosphere.Maggie KoernerMaggie Koerner is a singer, songwriter &amp; actress from New Orleans by way of Shreveport, Louisiana.&nbsp;Self producing music in 2013 in New Orleans, Koerner had the opportunity to take over as the front-woman for legendary touring artists Galactic, gaining international attention for her fiery performances and commanding presence touring alongside Widespread Panic, Charles Bradley and Dr. John. Her songwriting and vocals are featured on Galactic’s albums Carnivale Electricos (2012) and Into The Deep (2015), both of which feature singles she co-wrote with Shaw, “Hey Na Na” and “Dolla Diva."&nbsp;In 2015, Koerner left Galactic to focus on her music again which has included a string of festival performances including New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Austin City Limits, Pemberton Music Festival as well as tours alongside The Revivalists, Band of Horses, Marcus King, The Head &amp; The Heart, Shakey Graves, Tank &amp; the Bangas, Warren Haynes, Gov’t Mule &amp; more.As her momentum continued to grow, Koerner reached out to the UK-based singer/songwriter Fink who wanted to collaborate with her through his R’COUP’D imprint via Ninja Tune. The result, an EP titled Dig Down Deep, was released in 2016 and showcased an ever-evolving Koerner. Fink’s sparse production emphasized the intensity of her vocals creating an intimate, yet powerful listen. The album was well received by CLASH Magazine who proclaimed “Koerner is rather special talent...” and highlighted her “remarkable sense of depth and songwriting...”Koerner continued to tour, signed a publishing deal and eventually began to work on a new album, collaborating with a variety of artists and producers to pen 11 songs recorded in New Orleans. In 2019 &amp; 2020, a series of singles were released including the searing “If I Die”, which was featured in ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. Koerner’s LP “The Bartholomew Songs,” was released March 2022 independently. In October 2022, Maggie spent a month in Louisville, KY filming and starring in an independent film, “Heart Strings” (2024). Maggie recently co-wrote 2 songs with Jessica Simpson on her recent albums Nashville Canyon EP Pt 1 &amp; 2.&nbsp;Koerner’s latest album, UPSTATE, is out now. Koerner produced this 12-track LP with Ajai Combelic &amp; recorded it in New Orleans at Lil Squeeze Studio.Shawn KyleHost of Songwriter Club, Shawn Kyle is a multiple Best of the Bay Award Winner and 14X SXSW Austin official showcasing performer. Please join us for a night of songs, in this historic atmosphere.Lauren Ruth Ward A gutsy, raspy-voiced singer/songwriter in the vein of Janis Joplin or Courtney Barnett, Baltimore born Lauren Ruth Ward changed her life drastically to pursue her truth. After graduating from high school, she began working as a hairstylist and built a clientele in the hundreds. As time went on, however, she knew she needed to make music her focus and embrace her queerness. In 2015, she quit her job, broke up with her fiancé, and moved to L.A. releasing her self titled EP in 2016. Chris Hess Florida born, east coast surf and sand raised, Chris now lives in Los Angeles and is widely known as the frontperson for the band SWIMM. Since releasing their debut EP, Feel, in 2013, indie psychedelic dream pop band SWIMM have risen to become one of the more notable bands in that genre. With a string of atmospheric, melodic, and introspective singles and EPs – and a critically acclaimed full-length album, _Sentimental Porno, in 2018 – they’ve continued to raise their profile. Based outside of Asheville, North Carolina, Ramsey gained widespread recognition as a key member of Band of Horses, contributing to their soaring indie-folk sound across three studio albums, each of which included Ramsey originals. As a songwriter and guitarist, his intricate playing and introspective lyricism became a defining element of the band's music.While Ramsey’s former tenure with Band of Horses solidified his reputation, his solo career has proven his depth as an artist in his own right. Please join us for a night of songs, in this historic atmosphere.David Dondero In 2006, NPR's All Songs Considered named David one of the "best living songwriters" alongside Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney and Tom Waits. As American troubadour Dondero began writing songs in the late 80’s while at Clemson University. Initially a drummer and lyricist, he formed Sunbrain in 1991. A post-punk indie rock quartet heavily influenced by Donovan and Fugazi. Sunbrain was signed by Grass Records and they recorded 3 albums. When the group disbanded he went on to play drums for the folk punk band, This Bike is a Pipe Bomb. After 2 years he left the band in 1998 and began his solo career. He’s been touring ever since and his music has taken him around the world multiple times.His style and ongoing narratives are hard to fit into a particular genre. He manages to tackle difficult subject matter with a wry sense of humor. The music is inspired by heartbreak, hopefulness, everyday work, and his never-ending state of flux. Dondero’s lyrics are influenced by the angst of Black Flag, the wanderlust of Bruce Springsteen, the sentimentality of Paul Simon, and the politics of Woody Guthrie.He’s shared bills and tours with Pedro the Lion, The Mountain Goats, Darren Hanlon, Daniel Johnston, and Against Me! In 2006, Bob Boilen and Robin Hilton of NPR put David on their list of the top ten greatest living songwriters. Aside from multiple years at South by Southwest, he was invited by Mudhoney as a featured artist at All Tomorrow’s Parties in Rye, England. God Speed You Black Emperor brought him to The Sled Island Festival in Calgary and he’s played at the Bellow Winter Music Festival in Australia under the recommendation of Australian songwriter Darren Hanlon. Dondero tours heavily but now calls Pensacola, FL home. Growing up in the rough Suitcase City neighborhood of Tampa during the 1980's and 90's, Kyle began performing at and putting together multi media shows in Ybor City in 1997 as well as befriending and working for influential artists such as pop artist JSG Boggs, Time/Life photographer Bud Lee, and the production facility of Ybor Hot Glass and Iron Works. Fronting groups the Beauvilles, and AMFMS, he was involved touring and performing with both the Americana revival of the early 2000's and also the Psychedelic Rock and Garage revival of the 2010's performing as a support act with diverse groups: Ty Segall, AllahLahs the Black Angels, Growlers, Broncho to Americana legends like the Drive By Truckers, Centro-Matic, Okkervil River and Jason Isbell. A town 1,561 miles from both New York and San Francisco. He moved to New York in the 1980's and worked as an office temp for a few years before landing a deal with Bar None Records in Hoboken. His second record for them was his breakthrough album, 1992's Can You Fly. He then signed to Elektra Records and in 1994 worked with producer Butch Vig on his biggest record, This Perfect World, which featured the radio hit “Bad Reputation”, and earned him Rolling Stone's Songwriter of the Year award for 1994. His songs were featured in the movies “Kingpin”, “Kicking and Screaming” and “Heavy”. He currently lives in Joshua Tree, California.Geri X Bulgarian-born Geri X is a composer, a musician and a singer hard to put a label on. Fans and critics spotted it from the moment she broke onto the Tampa Bay music scene: Geri is an artist with a singular sound you have not heard before. What started with a classical training in piano, guitar and voice, evolving out of a broad and eclectic blend of influences, has become wonderfully her own.
