Come see comedy legend, Steve Bjork headline for Malice Comedy at Rapscallion! The Boston Globe has described Steve Bjork as “one of the top names” in New England stand-up comedy. He’s come a long way from his nights of frying up mozzarella sticks in the back room of a popular Boston comedy club. He was a college student, using that part-time job to study the craft of stand-up comedy by catching glimpses of theperformers on stage.Today, Bjork is a polished veteran of the highly competitive Boston comedy scene with crisscrossing tours of the country under his belt. His material is intelligent and accessible, but first and foremost, it is funny. Bjork takes everyday life and turns it upside down in a way that every demographic in any given audience can enjoy. A longtime favorite in nightclubs and casinos around the country, Bjork is also a highly sought-after corporate entertainer.&nbsp;Klia Ververidis is a stand-up comedian who has performed at venues across New England and New York City. In addition to comedy, she is an actor who has appeared on stage in numerous comedic productions, including Mrs. Peacock in Clue and Klionice in Lysistrata with the Neverland Theater Company. Klia has also appeared on television, including segments on Chronicle and The Playboy Channel’s Morning Show. Her comedy draws heavily from her unique life experience—25 years practicing law and her work as a promoter of antique shows and events—giving audiences a sharp, offbeat perspective on careers, characters, and the strange situations life throws our way. Jake McKelvie has traveled the DIY touring circuit in the US and UK for over a decade, carving out a niche for himself as a songwriter and performer. Known for his off-kilter and whimsical "stream of self-consciousness" lyricism and charming stage demeanor, he keeps audiences engaged both as a solo performer or with his newly minted backing band, “the New Old Band". He released his latest LP "A New Kind of Hat" in 2024 and has been touring in support of that since.

Boston-based acoustic group Trusting Fate is bolstered by a genuine passion for creating imaginative, unexpected music. The group’s debut release Down to the Basics features 12 original tunes that combine elements of rock, folk, bluegrass, roots and blues into a fresh, powerful sound. Trusting Fate spin playful melodies and blend rich three-part harmonies with crisp lyrics. The band’s songs are marked by inventive arrangements that explore luxurious instrumental and vocal layers. Trusting Fate’s straightforward songwriting style and ability to deliver intimate, engaging performances reveal all three members have been inspired by legendary singers, instrumentalists and storytellers such as Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle, Tom Waits, The Jayhawks and Richard Thompson. &nbsp; The concept of Trusting Fate first emerged in 2007 when Therkelsen, O’Brien and Doyle were singing together in a nine-piece R&amp;B dance outfit, Red Box Panic and felt driven to experiment with different acoustic instrumentation, the finer points of dynamics and with musical genres that could not be executed by a large rock ensemble. The three broke off and began to put their own twist on classic rock covers, inserting signature Americana and bluegrass rhythmic and melodic flavors using mandolin, fiddle and keyboards and combining them with improvisational, bluesy vocal lines and heartfelt, narrative lyrics. They became Trusting Fate in 2009 and have since played at favorite hometown venues throughout the Northeastern United States, including Java Room, &nbsp;The Tavern in Groton and and Main Street Café in Concord. &nbsp; The group has been featured on local radio and television programs. &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Down to Basics is currently available via Spotify&nbsp;

This lively event transforms Island Street into a hub of creativity and fun, offering a diverse range of free art activities, live music, dancing, and games for all to enjoy.Outdoors, tents feature local businesses, nonprofits, and artist vendors selling unique, handmade treasures. Indoors, the Salon Show features 150 artworks created by artists of all ages. Our teaching artists perform demonstrations highlighting our educational offerings in ceramics, animation, laser engraving, and more!

The Mushroom Cloud is a five-piece rock band from Connecticut that has been creating powerful original music and putting on electrifying shows around the Northeast since 2012. Brothers Paul and Russ Harris form the core of the group, and are joined by Matt Cuddy, Ryan Berry, and Christian Mariano to produce a unique and cohesive blend of rock, jam, and synth-heavy riffs. Always keeping their audiences dancing, they fluidly move through genres and aren’t afraid to take chances to deliver the most exciting live performances possible. Their unique energy resonates deep in the soul, capturing fans of a wide variety, and although The Mushroom Cloud has undergone several personnel changes throughout the years, the current lineup is the best iteration yet, ultimately leading to the pinnacle of their new sound.
