In the greatest duos, the dynamic between individuals generates a sound all its own. Voices and visions co-mingle completely, alchemizing into a union that transcends “complementary” or “contrasting.” While musician / producer Johnny Sangster and Pineola’s Leslie Braly are both established artists in their own right, the music they make as Braly Sangster owes everything to their chemistry.Loose Wing is a Seattle-based indie rock band formed in 2019. Fronted by songwriter Claire Tucker, the band is known for its jangle-pop sound reminiscent of early R.E.M. and The Church. Their self-titled debut album was released in March 2022, and was praised by Rolling Stone for its "gritty take on indie pop" and "elegant incorporation of string accompaniment".&nbsp;Keith Lowe has over 40 years of performing experience on both electric and acoustic bass. He studied classically for 15 years and played in various orchestras before moving on to jazz and rock where he has toured and recorded with such artists as Fiona Apple, David Sylvian, Bill Frisell, Harold Budd, Wayne Horvitz and has been a member of the band BRAD since 2008. Since 2016 he has been a member of the orchestra for the legendary Teatro ZinZanni cirque and cabaret dinner theater. His diverse background and wide ranging and comprehensive approach to music has resulted in a tuneful, solid, and eclectic style that has him in demand both as a performer and studio musician. Keith recently released his first solo album entitled “The Other Half of Silence.”

Based out of Portland, Oregon, MAITA is the full-band vehicle for the songwriting of Maria Maita-Keppeler. MAITA first appeared back in 2017 around the release of the Waterbearer EP, some three years on, this week will see the release of their debut album, Best Wishes. The album, made partly in the splendid sounding 100-year-old Ok Theatre in Enterprise, Oregon, is coming out via Kill Rock Stars, whose founder Slim Moon liked the album so much, he came out of a twelve year retirement to spearhead the release.Bryan John Appleby is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Seattle. His folk-centric body of work draws elements from mid-century pop, wall-of-sound, psychodelia, tropicália, and classic cinema.&nbsp;Appleby’s most recent effort, Underwater Easy Breathing (Plume Records) exemplifies a distinct production palette and fantastical tendencies. Lush, coastal, synth-laced; the album is a natural next step in his wandering, often densely layered folk repertoire. Previous works include The Narrow Valley (2015), a dense, maximalist concept album drenched in dreamy, orchestral layers and experimental sounds, and Fire on the Vine (2011), a darker collection with more conventional folk structures and instrumentation.&nbsp;

The album examines the stigma of queerness in the African diaspora and the ruptures in family relationships that ensue. Titled using the latin etymology, STIGMATA juxtaposes religious and occult motifs interwoven throughout the 13-song album.Behind&nbsp;FEM du lit’s compelling artistry is Francesca Eluhu, a visionary Seattle-based singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Their artist name, meaning “woman of the bed,” evokes the indictment of femininity embodied in haunted spirits, comfort, shelter and sensuality. Of French and Congolese descent, Eluhu pulls inspiration from their Afro-diasporic heritage while weaving in eclectic influences like Mereba, Liv.e, and Salami Rose Joe Louis. Known for fronting Seattle’s psychedelic neo-soul band, Day Soul Exquisite, FEM du lit’s solo project ventures boldly into an electro-soul realm, showcasing their genre-defying sound.

Dylan Hayes is a top called jazz pianist, composer and arranger originally from San Francisco and currently resides in Seattle, WA. He is 27 years old and began playing piano at age 7. After attending Marin School of the Arts for high school, he continued his studies at Cornish College of the Arts, from which he graduated from in 2019, and was able to study piano with Dawn Clement and Jovino Santos Neto as well as arranging with Jim Knapp. While attending Cornish, Jim Knapp handed over the Jim Knapp Orchestra book to Dylan Hayes and local legend Jay Thomas.Dylan’s piano playing has brought him to share the stage with top tier musicians such as Benny Bennack III, Barry Stephenson, Jay Thomas, Johnaye Kendrick, Thomas Marrtiott, Christopher Brown and Chris Amberger. Dylan’s debut record “Songs For Rooms And People” was released on Blujazz Productions in March, 2020. His debut record is one of the top ten jazz albums of 2020 in The Seattle Times. A New York / Seattle based band that Dylan leads called “Meridian Odyssey” released a record titled "Second Wave" under Origin Records and was listed as one of the top fifteen best albums of 2021 in The Seattle Times. Meridian Odyssey’s sophomore release “Earthshine” received the Northwest Recording of The Year award in Earshot Jazz’s 2022 Golden Ear Awards. In 2023, Dylan received a commission to arrange one of Thomas Marriott’s compositions for The Carolina Philharmonic. The conductor was floored to hear an applause after the string soli that Dylan arranged, and said that he’d never seen an audience clap mid-way through a piece of arranged music in a classical setting before. Dylan was commissioned to arrange Julian Priester’s compositions for the Fellowship ‘Ceptet, which premiered at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley in 2023. He has also been commissioned to arrange for the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and the Portland Composers Jazz Ensemble.&nbsp;In 2024, Dylan toured and recorded a record in Europe, played in New York City, toured the West Coast and recorded four records of all original music; trio record, octet record, neo-soul / pop record with Vela The Band, and Meridian Odyssey’s third album. Dylan will be playing at the Havana Jazz Festival in January of 2025 with his band Vela The Band.&nbsp;
