His mom Swaneagle is known in Pacific Northwest creative and activist circles as a free-spirited visual artist whose work reflects earth consciousness, unity, and grassroots social awareness. His mother and father's influences helped shape his blend of reggae, dub, folk, pop and global influences. Growing up with a father immersed in the Los Angeles fast-paced broadcast world - while being mostly raised by an activist visual artist - gave Adrian&nbsp;exposure to two very different but equally powerful creative influences. Fat Mike of NOFX's newly launched project, Codefendants, are the breath of fresh air and the steel-toe-cap kick in the nuts music has needed for too long. Get Dead vocalist Sam King's graffiti crew were giving tattoos and making flash art to raise money to help rapper Ceschi Ramos when he was in prison. Months later they met at the Gilman Street Project in Berkeley, California. They bonded, talking about their love of hip-hop and punk rock, over a bottle of Jameson. They didn't know it yet, but they had just started Codefendants. Impossible to define by traditional standards, Codefendants were forged out of a desire to make an album that sounded like nothing else; a completely genre-fluid album, a cross between hip hop, new-wave, flamenco, and the Beatles. They call the genre 'Crime Wave'.Pretty Deadly is a Dallas, Oregon-based punk rock trio born from what was supposed to be a one-off studio jam-but turned into something too fun to walk away from. Formed in early 2025, the band features Blaine (guitar/vocals), Travis (bass/vocals), and Zach (drums)-three longtime players with deep roots in the Pacific Northwest punk scene. Esther Rose was on a long solo drive when she started writing the opening title track of Want, her stunning fifth album. At first, the words seemed almost like a joke, something to keep herself amused as the miles passed. “I want a puppy, but I don't want a mess. I want to know where I’m going without GPS,” she sang from behind the wheel. Often characterized by her vulnerability, poetic edge, and genre-blurring sound, Veronica North offers a space where mainstream appeal meets personal expression; a soundtrack for dancing, crying, and everything in between. Some call it 'pop music for falling in and out of love'.Seattle’s Jaws of Brooklyn emerged during the 2020 pandemic, blending 60s garage rock and soul with modern songwriting and earning early acclaim for their 2022 debut The Shoals, produced by Grammy winner Ben Tanner. After building momentum with high-energy performances across the Pacific Northwest—including SXSW and Capitol Hill Block Party—the band entered a new chapter in 2024 with the addition of powerhouse vocalist Gretchen Lemon. In our human minds, according to the Law of Contagious Magic as described in The Golden Bough by anthropologist James Frazer, contact between two objects creates an inseparable thread between them. A gift from a dead friend forever holds this magic like a scar reflecting a wound. Similarly, a piece of food that touches the floor is suddenly abject and rotten. Pairing this notion with the Law of Similarity Magic, as described by Frazer, where an object resembling another can share its power, a musical notion can be understood to serve as an unbodied conduit of such magics; an emotional contact between the music and audience wherein such sorcery threads an inseparable seam that, for a time, resemble each other.Aptly named in reference to the aforementioned book, Stygian Bough, the collaboration between Bell Witch (Dylan Desmond, Jesse Shreibman) and Aerial Ruin (Erik Moggridge) enlivens its unbodied presence resembling both projects as a conduit in its own separate entity.The partnership at the center of Stygian Bough is over in a decade in the making, growing from Moggridge’s recurring contributions to the Bell Witch catalog. Intimate lyrics filled with optimistic existentialism are unhurriedly sung with a woodgrain baritone over fingerpicked guitar, the occasional elbow fiddle or keyboard. He prefers not to lean too hard into any specific genre, although he's satisfied with the umbrella term "folk" as the idea of non-commercial music made by people for the people. He's spent the better part of two decades studying traditional American musical styles, specifically country blues guitar and old time fiddle tunes, learning from old source recordings, elders in the scene, and the festival/camp community. Along with that cultural musical nerdery he has a prolific output of original music. As an artist with a DIY aesthetic, he uses songcraft as a medium to create imagery- along those lines he also produces animations, videos, paintings, drawings, and prints in tandem with his musical output. Keeping the audience (and himself) on their toes, he rarely plays the same thing twice- sometimes it may seem as if the wheels are about to fall off, but the train stays on the tracks and it's a satisfying roll. His recordings, solo and with Sons Of Rainier have found their way into the permanent library of hobos, widows, fry cooks, and fancy pants alike. The Dream Syndicate will perform their visceral 1984 album Medicine Show on tour in the US and Europe beginning in November 2025 and carrying through March of 2026. The tour will sync with a reissue of Medicine Show (now expanded into a 4-CD set of 42 songs, 29 unreleased performances [live and studio] from 1983-84) and a vinyl LP on the band’s own Down There label, distributed by Fire Records.It will be the first time the band has played Medicine Show in its entirety and comes fresh on the heels of a similar and successful tour for The Days of Wine and Roses in 2022. The band will open each evening with a set of new material, drawn from the four reunion albums they have made since 2017, take a short break and then switch over to Medicine Show - heralded as one of the 40 best rock albums ever by the London Guardian. It has been out of print in every format for decades.The reissue comes on the heels of an intense and lengthy legal battle that ended with the band winning the rights to the album which they’ll be signing every evening at the merch table after the show. The Dream Syndicate burst onto the LA scene at the beginning of 1982 as the leaders of the Paisley Underground movement – becoming one of the leading lights of the American Indie scene that was brewing after the birth of punk and new wave. Four albums and countless tours followed before The Dream Syndicate disbanded in 1988, then reuniting in 2012.
