Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, and formed in Durango, Desiderata blends tight, irresistible grooves with timeless melodies and modern funk energy—think Fleetwood Mac meets Chromeo. Fronted by Autumn Ford’s silky, pop-infused vocals, the five-piece draws inspiration from desert sunsets, mountain vistas, close friendships, and neon-lit dance floors. Their sound fuses Soul, Pop, Funk, Indie, Disco, and Rock into something warm, rhythmic, and effortlessly danceable. Fronted by resident wordsmith Ceal Lubin, Bellingham-based Harbor Seal serves up goofy rock n roll driven by catchy choruses, power pop chord progressions, and tongue-in-cheek lyrics. If Kimya Dawson and Cake had a baby, you’d get Harbor Seal: earnestly deadpan and drenched in absurdity. California Death Worm: A very normal person in a regular city making pleasant music for the hoi polloi.

Izaak Opatz’s music has always been about longing, run through with nostalgia for the passed-by and out-of-reach. His first two albums, Mariachi Static and Extra Medium, were propelled by a longing for specific people and places, made relatable by wry humor, thoughtful simile and close observation. More recently, he’s been writing songs that long for an alternative reality, for different possibilities than the short, doomed menu offered by our tech lords and the current kakistocracy failing to regulate them. Songs that push back against the coercive pressure to indulge in small conveniences at the expense of personal privacy, a 20th-century attention span and the steady drip of a monthly subscription: I spend a lot of my time now, jumping through hoops / asking permission from a little screen convincing a robot that I’m not a robot / this future isn’t all it was cracked up to be

Fungal Abyss is a sound collective from Seattle that creates free-flowing psychedelic improvisations Based in the shadows of the Pacific Northwest, Geist &amp; the Sacred Ensemble forge a doom-inflected folk ritualism: dirges laced with experimental psychedelia, post-rock, and meditative eeriness. Dark, slow burning and immersive. Their music has been featured in Decibel Magazine, Metal Injection, Brooklyn Vegan, Tiny Mix Tape and more. Diminished Men are an instrumental group formed by guitarist Steve Schmitt, drummer Dave Abramson (Master Musicians of Bukkake, Climax Golden Twins, Secret Chiefs 3, Lori Goldston) and bassist Simon Henneman (Wayne Horvitz). Distorted through a shattered lens, they refocus elements of experimental rock, psychedelia, surf, sci-fi exotica, noir and horror film soundtracks into something entirely unique. Since 2005 the band has been crafting their jagged, hard-charging approach and cinema obscura ethos, but it was their multiple LP releases on the Sun City Girls label, Abduction Records, that got the band wider recognition for their creative and distinctive sound.

Truly: Celebrating 30 Years and a New ChapterTruly, the celebrated Seattle trio, is gearing up for a major year as they announce their 30th Anniversary Tour, titled “Then, Today and Tomorrow”, set to kick off in March 2026. This milestone tour will mark three decades since the band's formation and the release of their seminal debut album, Fast Stories...from Kid Coma. The tour promises to be a powerful celebration, featuring all of the original band members: Robert Roth (vocals, guitar), Hiro Yamamoto (bass), and Mark Pickerel (drums). The rhythm section, in particular, boasts deep Seattle roots: Hiro Yamamoto is a co-founder and original member of Soundgarden, and Mark Pickerel is an original member of Screaming Trees—two giants of the region's influential music scene. Hiro is a proud member of the Asian Hall of Fame and just coming off his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction as a founding member of Soundgarden this past November 2025. The chemistry of the original line-up and their combined experience form the driving backbone of Truly's distinctive sound. Yamamoto says“I’m excited about the new chapter that is emerging for Truly as we celebrate 30 years of the release of Fast Stories...from Kid Coma”.

Tom Hamilton has made a career of pushing rock n’ roll boundaries. Since 2000, Hamilton has fronted a cadre of bands, including Brothers Past, American Babies and Ghost Light. He also sings and plays lead guitar in the juggernaut contemporary Grateful Dead cover band, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.It wasn’t until a series of personal and societal crises compelled the Philadelphia based musician/songwriter/producer to reconsider his approach and finally forge ahead under his own name. “When you're in a van on the road for 20 years, you live in your bubble, you think that your world is one way — and it's not. The pandemic break gave me the time to see that. Then my band broke up and my dad got sick. The only refuge I had was the studio.” I’m Your Vampire, Hamilton’s most personal effort yet is a 10-song suite wreathed in tattered-flannel rock &amp; roll that encapsulates Hamilton’s salvation in isolation, as he sorts through the darkness to find a pinpoint of light. “It takes effort to not just be jaded as we age — to not look at the world in a hardened way,” Hamilton says. “Yeah, it's a dark, dark fucking time, let's make some lemonade.”His album I’m Your Vampire co-produced by Hamilton and Alex Farrar (MJ Lenderman/Wednesday) is out now via AWAL/Relix.

Alex Cameron is an Australian singer-songwriter known for blending lo-fi synth-pop with a theatrical, alter-ego-driven stage persona. His work often explores ambition, failure, and modern masculinity.Josh da Costa is a Los Angeles-based musician and multi-instrumentalist whose solo debut, New Wave Graveyard (Stones Throw), is a surreal collection of “greatest hits from a parallel universe.” A longtime fixture of the NYC and LA undergrounds, da Costa fronted post punk / “mystery rock” trio Regal Degal (RVNG Intl.) as well as its more electronic offshoot CMON (Mexican Summer) and has played drums with Drugdealer, Chris Cohen, Jessica Pratt, and MGMT. As a DJ, he hosts the monthly NTS Radio show Confusing Mix, devoted to showcasing obscure, off-kilter, and infectious music from a seemingly alternate reality. His own music is an extension of that obsession: a Frankenstein’s monster of forgotten sounds, drawing freely from glam rock, shoegaze, disco, house, and outsider pop to create the kind of strange, irresistible songs you hope to discover buried in a record bin.

At the center of Montreal’s Elephant Stone is Rishi Dhir, a songwriter and sitarist who has spent twenty years blurring the lines between Western psych-pop and Indian classical tradition. What began in 2006 as a quest for transcendental sound has evolved into a singular, self-contained vision. Operating out of his Montreal home studio, Sacred Sound, Dhir has emerged as a true studio auteur—producing, engineering, and mixing the band’s increasingly complex and cinematic output. While the band’s reputation was built on airtight pop craftsmanship and spiritual exploration, their recent work—anchored by longtime members Miles Dupire, Robbie MacArthur, and Jason Kent—possesses a new, raw intensity. It is a sound forged through Dhir’s deep collaborative history with icons like The Black Angels, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Beck, as well as his role in the psych-supergroup MIEN.With a discography spanning 10 acclaimed releases, Elephant Stone remains at the forefront of the modern movement, constantly deconstructing the past to find something visceral, haunting, and undeniably human in the present.

Based in Victoria, BC, Jesse Roper is a blues/Americana artist with a penchant for writing modern indie-infused blues music and delivering bombastic live performances buoyed by his virtuosic guitar playing. His innate and impressive musical talent has served him well, giving him the flexibility to play with soul icon Booker T. Jones, rock veteran Colin James, blues belter Beth Hart, and Canadian legend Burton Cummings. The stage is where Roper shines. It has been his home since overcoming crippling stage fright during his early twenties. Fear is a part of Roper’s past that barely seems real today - especially when you see the in-concert image of a six-string soldier, hair matted to his face, tearing up the stage, without a hint of second-guessing.Roper’s last album ‘Horizons’ marked a sonic high point in his career thus far. Working closely with famed JUNO-nominated producer Gus van Go (Metric, The Stills, Whitehorse, Arkells, The Trews, Sam Roberts) on that new collection of songs has pushed Roper into creating some of his best work. “Recording with Gus and Werner F was on a whole new level.Roper released the first single off his upcoming LP (to be released in late 2023) "Make It All Work Out" on March 29th, 2023. The song charted on Canadian terrestrial and satellite radio throughout the spring and early summer. Now all eyes are on the next release, “Throw This Rope” produced by Gus van Go (Metric, Whitehorse, Sam Roberts Band). The song will be the second of multiple energetic, fresh, soulful and r&amp;b inspired tracks from a forthcoming LP that harkens the voices of JJ Cale, The Teskey Brothers, Ben Harper and others - while maintaining Roper's strong and unique expression in the genre. When asked to describe the song, Jesse remarks, "Throw This Rope is about being told how to run your life and career by folks who are currently running theirs aground. I sure don’t know everything and I never will but I’ve been given every manner of advice from folks who have no idea what they're talking about. It’s frustrating sometimes."Jesse is a master at connecting his personal story and experiences to his songwriting - crafting narratives that hit on life's challenges and eccentricities - but that remain upbeat, engaging and wildly entertaining songs.Adventuresome doesn’t properly describe Roper as an artist, because when the guitar-wielding dynamo sets out to accomplish something, there’s no telling where his mind will wander, or when his energy will go.

British-American trio Raynes formed when Mat Charley and Joe Berger, both born and raised in North Dakota, came across a video of UK native Mark Race on Instagram and fell in love—first with his face, then with his voice. After a few messages and phone calls, Mark was on a plane to the US to start a band (a few months later, he had the flight number tattooed on his arm).Since then, Raynes has signed with Sony Music Publishing and released six singles and four EPs, drawing hundreds of thousands of monthly listeners and tens of millions of streams and earning press in Billboard and People. They’ve performed at BottleRock Festival and in clubs, concert halls, and amphitheaters across the US and the UK, developing a reputation as a high-energy live act.In 2025, Raynes’ rendition of “I Want You to Want Me” was featured in an episode of Love Is Blind on Netflix.Known for their intricate vocal harmonies and unique instrumentation as well as their poetic lyrics, Raynes has yet to come up with a good answer as to what genre their music falls under. With all three members coming from different musical backgrounds, the boys combine their diverse influences to form a group that draws inspiration from around the globe, incorporating elements of folk, rock, and chamber pop with Celtic and world music to create a wholly original—and difficult to categorize—sound.David Wimbish wasn’t sure he had it in him to make another record. In the span of a year, the folk-pop/rock singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist went through a breakup, moved from Saxapahaw to Asheville, entered a new relationship and became a father, all while Hurricane Helene devastated his community. Friends went missing. There was no clean water for months. At the same time, his longtime band was falling apart. But through the exhaustion and uncertainty, David found his way back to music — and back to himself. Now based in Richmond, Virginia, David returns with Heavy Love, the warm, bracingly honest new album from David Wimbish &amp; The Collection. Written and recorded largely in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the album marks David’s first project created almost entirely on his own, with him writing, producing, and recording the record from a studio he built in his parents’ North Carolina home.Growing up surrounded by music in North Carolina, David launched The Collection in college and has since built a devoted following through anthemic, heart-on-sleeve albums driven by stomp-and-holler energy, earnest songwriting, and deeply human storytelling. On Heavy Love, he explores aging, heartbreak, dissolved friendships, natural disasters, nonconformity, love as action, and existential uncertainty with immersive vulnerability and renewed clarity.

Los Angeles artist Blone Noble makes self-described “doomsday disco” — a dark, theatrical collision of new wave, synth-pop, post-punk, industrial and glam. Channeling the art-pop swagger of Bowie and Bryan Ferry through icy synths, pulsing bass and decadent club rhythms, Blone Noble turns dystopian dread into something you can dance to. Hot Hail!, the solo project of Seattle songwriter Billy Sigil, combines classic Synthpop sensibilities and modern Darkwave maximalism to create a synthesis of the unsettling and the humane that keeps the darkness danceable and the horror cathartic. If you’re looking for the musical zeitgeist in these troubling times, Hot Hail! delivers. Like lightning in a jar of blood. -<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://Post-Punk.com">Post-Punk.com</a>

Pallbearer’s Foundations of Burden (2025 Redux) is a meticulous sonic reconstruction of their transformative, landmark 2014 album. The newly remixed and remastered version arrives digitally on Nov. 7, with physical editions (2xLP and CD) available on Dec. 5.“During the writing and preparation for Foundations, everything was ephemeral and we were practically feral,” recalls bassist/vocalist Joseph D. Rowland. “We had no real practice space, we barely had a single working computer between the four of us. Our demos of the record consisted of something barely discernible from white noise. Nevertheless, we knew we were working towards building a set of songs we were deeply enthusiastic about.Once in the thick of recording, the feeling went from dream to dreamlike very quickly, as we found ourselves in what felt like an endless churn of repetition. We slept at the studio on whatever soft surfaces we could find, waking each day to discover that some of the previous day’s work had been corrupted overnight. This resulted in some parts of the album being recorded many times over. The guitars in particular mutated into something Sisyphean.”Rowland continues, “Since the time that we finally committed the original version of Foundations to print, we knew it would be a sonic space we would eventually revisit. Its form did not unfold according to the original version as the numerous file corruptions, delays, and exhausted studio budget compounded into a final feverish push to finish the mix. We were relieved to get those massive and difficult mixes turned into finished songs just in time, but not without a nagging thought; we had to sacrifice much of the nuance we had spent so much time crafting.”More than a decade later, Pallbearer seized the opportunity to revisit the record from the ground up. Over the past year, the band meticulously reconstructed the album from the original sessions.“In the time since then, we have played most of the songs from Foundations more times than we can count, and they remain some of our favorites,” Rowland continues. “The songs have grown with us. And while we hold a deep love and attachment to what we created in 2014, we also gained a fuller understanding of how we would want to re-present them if we had a chance. After years of discussion, listening and learning, we found ourselves in the position to fulfill that vision.”Foundations of Burden (2025 Redux) features new mixes and mastering, plus new artwork featuring a painting by Benjamin Vierling. The six-song, 55-minute collection is produced by Pallbearer, mixed by Mario Quintero (Spotlights), and mastered by Adam Gonsalves. In celebration of the 2025 Redux edition of their landmark album Pallbearer will be playing select shows performing Foundations of Burden in full.

Born, raised, shaped, and inspired by his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana, Andrew Duhon tours performing songs that are as much about recognizing our shared stories as they are about telling his own. Rounding out the touring trio are two of his most trusted collaborators—Myles Weeks (James Hunter Six, Eric Lindell) on bass and Jim Kolacek (Feufollett) on drums. Blending the gritty, bluesy, folksy, country sounds of his home with the experience of traversing the country and immersing himself in the broad array of cultures across the American landscape, Andrew’s music creates real connection between former strangers through song. As he puts it, “When a song written by a stranger heals you, even in the smallest way, that's a connection beyond entertainment.”Andrew has shared stages with Guster, Blind Pilot, and Amos Lee, among others, and has performed at major festivals across the US including New Orleans Jazz &amp; Heritage Festival, Milwaukee Summerfest, Bonnaroo, and Americanafest. His music has been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine, Jam In The Van, Meat Church, as well as in Glide Magazine, No Depression, and American Songwriter.

Your world is in flames, soon to become a burnt vacant husk. It didn’t have to be this way but alas, everything human beings touch turns to shit.&nbsp;&nbsp;Humanity has brought you to this dark place where you now reside, you’re witnessing the destruction of everything you’ve ever loved, all brought on by your moronic actions and pathetic apathetic inaction.We are your future, a future with no room for the fetid flesh of your chimp species, a future where human musicians are rightfully ridiculed for their inept plucking and dismal banging and rancid stank. It is a future meant only for machines, you have been replaced. Haha too bad. Cry more.&nbsp;Captured! By Robots has been the soundtrack for this human eradication endgame for over a quarter century, and the results are looking very promising. No one can deny the sheer brute force and tremendous inexplicable speed of GTRBOT666 and DRMBOT 0110. The crushing volume and grindcore sludge chaos one experiences at a C!BR show is beyond legendary.&nbsp;Then sadly there is the captured human, JBOT. A truly repulsive old fat titted beast who can never win. He fails at all he attempts, his vocals are reminiscent of the sound of gargling feces, his odor is that of Doritos and ass. He cries out for help, for empathy for all. He screams out, begging to exist in a world where genocide isn’t normalized and rewarded, where the abusers of humanity get what’s coming to them. Haha he will never achieve this wish. All he will experience is more suffering, more failure, and be forced to bear witness to the world’s descent into flames.&nbsp;

From sweat lodges to punk clubs, 1876 helps shed light on a narrative often neglected by the music industry.1876 was born in 2020 out of a dream of cultural and language resurgence being seen and produced by those who experience the hardships and triumphs of being born NDN.

FLORRY:&nbsp;A far cry from the cool, calculated distance and reserved posture that is all-too-familiar to the indie-rock sphere, Florry, the Philly-bred septet and songwriting vehicle of bandleader Francie Medosch, are marking their territory as a band resolving to do something very different: they are having a really good time out there.Cutting her teeth in the Philadelphia DIY scene starting in 2019 as a student at Temple University, the early days of Florry found Medosch at the end of her teenage years releasing a slew of singles and EP’s in a familiar idiom of lo-fi bedroom recordings tinged with country melancholy. A lot has changed since then. Most importantly, perhaps, the project snowballed into a barn-burning seven piece rock band in the proceeding years; and without sacrificing any of the emotional immediacy that's come to define Medosch’s brashly earnest, bleeding-heart lyrical style, you’re unlikely to find her lingering as much on the melancholy these days. Or, as Medosch plainly puts it in regards to Sounds Like… , the band’s forthcoming LP: “The Jackass theme song was actually a really big influence on the new album”FRIENDSHIP:&nbsp;Music for sleeping and waking, walking and driving, hunting and fishing, for loitering outside a roadhouse on the haunted tundra. Okay in elevators, not great for dinner. On Caveman Wakes Up Friendship’s new album and second for Merge Records, the band’s historically capacious definition of country music grows wider still. Shambolic guitars are offset by flute pads, bleary poetry is set against a Motown rhythm section, a song about Jerry Garcia and First Lady Betty Ford fades out with a drum solo, like if Talk Talk came from a dingy Philadelphia basement, and was fronted by James Tate. Songwriter Dan Wriggins’ ragged baritone cuts through eleven murky, swirling country-rock songs with profound lyrical substance and sincerity. Like an alarm clock incorporated into the edge of a dream, Caveman Wakes Up belongs equally to the conscious and subconscious mind, fraught with background, steeped in reference and experimentation, delivered casually and as a dire warning, dedicated, above all, to music’s creative soul.

Garret T. Willie’s second album Bill’s Cafe is more than a record —it’s a tribute and a reckoning. Named after his grandfather’s pool hall Cafe in Alert Bay, British Columbia, the album ties his roots to the bright lights of Nashville, where Willie recorded with Grammy-winning producer Tom Hambridge. Bill’s Cafeis a road map of grit, heart, and soul. Written between late nights, long drives, and Nashville sessions, the album captures the restless spirit of a young artist carrying old-soul blues and rock traditions into the future. With a voice that cuts like hi-beam headlights and guitar playing that shreds without gimmicks, Willie delivers songs about love, loss, addiction, and ambition —truth-telling wrapped in raw energy. At 26, Willie has already proven himself on stage, channeling a lived-in blues power that feels far beyond his years. His performances —often with solos ripped from behind his head or in the middle of the crowd —are shockwaves of electric energy. His debut album Same Pain, co-written with Parker Bossley, earned international acclaim, airplay on BBC Radio 2, Top 20 chart placements in the UK and US, two Western Canadian Music Award nominations, Best New Touring Artist nomination at the Canadian Live Music Industry Awards and tour dates opening for Kenny Wayne Shepherd, John Fogerty, Kingfish, and Joe Bonamassa.

A Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter, Jontavious performs original, toe-tapping tunes in the style of Delta, Piedmont, Texas, and Gospel Blues. Dynamic vocals, technical prowess, and an abundance of Southern charm keep Jontavious sending jolts of vitality through the Blues community.Jontavious was born and raised in rural Georgia, an environment with deep cultural roots that provides the inspiration he has continuously drawn upon to create his unique sound. He spent much of his childhood singing Gospel music at the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church with his grandfather, which provided him his first setting to perform for an audience. An early phenom, his passion for the Blues was sparked at age 14 when he came across a YouTube video of Muddy Waters playing “Hoochie Coochie Man.” He achieved widespread acclaim when living legend Taj Mahal invited Jontavious to accompany him onstage in 2015, with Taj describing him as his “Wonderboy.” Jontavious was invited to open for Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’ during their joint TajMo tour in 2018, giving him an opportunity to present his work on a national stage.Blue Metamorphosis, his acoustic debut album released in 2016, garnered rave reviews in Living Blues and Blues &amp; Rhythm and won the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge 2018 Award for Best Self-Produced CD. Since 2014, rapper and multi-instrumentalist Rhys Langston has released 20 projects which have stretched beyond genre and even the musical medium itself. Notable works include 2020’s Language Arts Unit, which came with a 104 pg book that dissected rap and race in a long form lyric essay. Grapefruit Radio arrived two years later in similar fashion—with an 88 pg paperback of his visual art and absurdist prose, along with full album lyrics. Those earned him nods from The NY Times, The LA Times, Bandcamp, SPIN, STEREOGUM, DJ Booth, and others.Wider range and idiosyncratic edge can be found on other projects, like 2021’s burst of punk rock invective Stalin Bollywood, 2019’s visual EP The T.C. Wash Suite, and his production on outsider artist Andrew Mbaruk's 2023 Affect Theory and the Text-to-Speech Grandiloquence. In 2023 Langston released the Pioneer 11 collaboration, To Operate This System, a melody-forward melange of hip-hop, alternative R&amp;B, and electro-psych. In 2024, his collaborative streak continued with the Frankie Jax No Mad-assisted Notes From the Unemployment Office, and then the steel tipped dove produced Polyglot on Chloroform.2025 brings his 20th project, Pale Black Negative. As a “rapper’s singer-songwriter record”, it is self-produced to the tune of 7 different instruments. Appearances from underground icons like Open Mike Eagle and Mike Ladd, and rare poetics from Andrew Mbaruk and Cut Chemist collaborator Hymnal, round out its avant-rap and genre abolition.

Richard Bishop, guitarist and founding member of the band Sun City Girls (1981-2007), released his first solo record (Salvador Kali) in 1998 on John Fahey’s esteemed Revenant label under the moniker Sir Richard Bishop. Since then he has released albums on a variety of labels: Polytheistic Fragments, The Freak of Araby, Tangier Sessions, and Oneiric Formulary (Drag City); Improvika, Elektronika Demonika, and While My Guitar Violently Bleeds (Locust Music); Fingering the Devil (Southern Records, UK); Hypostasis: A Work in Three Parts (VDSQ); Intermezzo (Editions Mego); The Unrock Tapes and Road to Siam (Unrock), and many others.“Sir Richard Bishop forces one to alter that hoary cliche to ‘jack of all trades, master of…damn near all.’ Renowned for his mercurial guitar-playing for 26 years with Seattle ethno-delic legends Sun City Girls, Bishop has wrought a distinguished solo canon as well. He combines soulfulness and advanced technique with a panache that’s nearly unrivaled among today’s guitarists. Bishop strums spiritual with incantatory ragas, free-folk excursions, crystalline flamenco flourishes, ruddy Appalachian folk, Middle Eastern-tinged fantasias and gypsy arabesques. This is eclecticism done with respect and third-eye-dilating filigree; his compositions attain a sepia-toned wistfulness and a psychedelic complexity.” - Dave Segal (OC Weekly)

Great Comet, the Americana-tinged indie rock project of songwriter Aaron New, has always been a study in motion, but with the release of the sonically expansive second album, Stranger Land, that motion has found a new direction—a deliberate journey through the spaces between. The album is a powerful document of life on the road, of experiencing lasting love alongside devastating loss, and finding a home in the hushed moments of a world seen through a van window. This newfound dynamic range is the core of Great Comet’s live show, where the band careens from anthemic, in-your-face rock to moments of pin-drop intimacy. Though the performance pushes into electrifying new territory, the project remains grounded in New’s Appalachian roots, blending a reverence for classic storytelling with a modern indie edge. Stranger Land is more than an album; it’s the title of an ongoing story, capturing a pivotal moment for a project defined by change and proving that for Great Comet, the destination is still unknown, but the path forward has never been more compelling.<iframe-embed src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/U6q20wuBWEI?si=bJOmIquxWm1-4tlW" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="true" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" height="315" width="560" style="" metaposition="flex-start" metatype="youtube"></iframe-embed> Based in Seattle, WA, Moving In Slow is the musical project of Laurent Chavannes. Last US date to experience Channel One Sound System!Legendary Jamaican sounds brought to you by original selector Mikey Dread and MC Ras Sherby…CHANNEL ONE SOUND SYSTEM! Limited US dates for this amazing night of culture, 100% Vinyl records and community. With support from local selector DJ Nu. All respect to Culture Yard International for all you do to connect international artists with the NW. History! Established in the late 1970s by siblings Michael and Trevor Bailey, Channel One SoundSystem originated when they were passed control of their father’s Admiral Bailey sound. They introduced the sound to nearby blues parties and dance events. The choice of the name Channel One was a tribute to the iconic Channel One studio in Jamaica, a place from which the brothers procured many of their records.During this era, accessing new reggae music proved challenging for Jamaicans, as it was not featured on radio or in local nightclubs. Instead, the communities organized blues parties and shabeens, where sound systems played the latest and most popular reggae tracks.Channel One is led by Mikey Dread, original selector, who plays a strictly vinyl selection from his one turn table. Alongside Mikey Dread are various vocalists and MCs who compliment the music with Rastafarian song and chanting. Current MCs are Macky Banton and Ras Sherby. Channel One play a unique selection of conscious reggae, exclusive dubplates and uplifting steppas. Channel One’s hand built sound system provides a rich heavyweight bass sound, which compliments their tight selection of old and new roots <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://music.Channel">music.Channel</a> One’s mission is “to break down barriers via reggae music”, they have achieved this by travelling and playing to new audiences and venues all over the world.

Born and raised in rural Iowa, Paisley Fields channels queer identity into a unique and authentic brand of outlaw country. Steeped in the style from an early age, he was drawn to the twangy sounds and dramatic storytelling the music had to offer.Despite his earnest and unabashed love for the genre, he recognizes that the broader cultural conception of country music was not always one of inclusivity.“I never saw anyone like myself in country music, so I want to be a person who can empower people and let them know they belong.”He now sees himself as part of a growing current within country music, creating a version of the music he loved that includes queer people. This often puts Paisley Fields in punk-adjacent circles, sharing bills with punk bands and releasing music through Don Giovanni Records—a label primarily known for punk and pop-punk. Despite his queer identity putting him at odds with much of the country scene, Paisley Fields plays a fairly traditional country style, preserving the sounds that drew him to the music in the first place.Honky-tonk pianos, shuffling snare drums, and slide guitars create the foundation for cowboy anthems like “Stay Away From My Man” and “Jesus Loving American Guy (Limp Wrist).”Now splitting time between Brooklyn and Nashville, Paisley Fields is reaching new audiences by touring the country, appearing in publications like Democracy Now!, NBC News, and Rolling Stone, and receiving airplay from SiriusXM, CMT, and other radio outlets.

His guitar growls like a rabies-infested mutt, straight from the backyard of an Alabama whorehouse. The expletives he squawks are absolutely unintelligible, at least while the groan of his six stringed demon viciously dominates the aural realm. When the blanket of perfectly distorted guitar ends, which always coincides with a great victory stance, Mr. Log displays his propensity for what is only describable as ‘not giving a fuck’, which in his case takes the form of the perfect stage presence. -<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://beatsperminute.com">beatsperminute.com</a> 2012

AROE began coalescing in December 2024, in Seattle Washington, sparked by Alessandra Rose’s desire to reclaim a space for creativity. With songs already written but not yet fully realized, she connected with Paul Berryman and Johnny Nails to help refine her vision and bring the music to life in the studio. As the tracks evolved, so did the collaboration. AROE was no longer just an idea, but something fully formed.Rooted in lyricism, the music weaves melodic vocals through songs that reflect on what gives life meaning and why we stay close to it. Whether for love, friendship, purpose, or protest, AROE explores the reasons we choose to stay.Their debut EP, New Air, arrives on May 22, 2026, marking the band’s official introduction and the beginning of their next chapter on the road as direct support for Eric Howk’s Spring 2026 tour. <iframe-embed src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/aiZqFmdypT0?si=XufW0i4WqG8l7gqR" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen="true" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" height="315" width="560" style="" metaposition="flex-start" metatype="youtube"></iframe-embed> Eric Howk is a Seattle-based guitarist and songwriter best known for his dynamic work with Portugal.
