Now based in Philadelphia, Kikashima is made up of equal parts legacy and rebellion. They are a sensuous power trio that boasts heart-breaking melodies, down-to-earth lyrics and grooves that move both body and soul thanks to Parker St. Charles on bass and Max Azarmehr on drums.</div>

REMEMBER SPORTS
Remember Sports was a self-categorized “basement rock band” when they formed as a group of Kenyon College students in 2012. The band’s electrifying pop punk bonafides and the inimitable vocals of frontperson and primary songwriter Carmen Perry found them quick acclaim and a home at Father/Daughter.&nbsp; After four albums of expertly crafted pop punk, Remember Sports follows up last year’s epic Like a Stone with the first EP of their decade-long run. Recorded piecemeal in their respective homes, sometimes together, sometimes apart, Leap Day trades the live immediacy of their studio classics for something cozier, though no less rousing. The core trio of Carmen Perry, Catherine Dwyer, and Jack Washburn have always kept up active home recording practices for their solo projects–Carmen as Addie Pray, Catherine as Spring Onion, Jack under his own name–and here we find them gently folding sounds sprung from their bedrooms into their signature brand of basement rock.&nbsp; Absent a dedicated drummer for the first time in their recorded history, the band opts for simple drum machine accompaniment, lending the music a fresh weightlessness even as Carmen’s arresting vocals and sharp lyrics bring gravity in all their righteous anger, scathing self-reproach, and disarming tenderness. Musically, all the thrilling guitar riffs and grooving bass lines we’ve come to expect are here, but the gradual recording process offered the band more opportunity to explore and experiment, adding on subtle layers of instrumentation, distortion, and electronics, and with them a warm sense of depth. In all, Leap Day is a short and sweet, loose but confident affair; at once a reminder of Remember Sports’ absolute mastery of the pop rock anthem and a tantalizing sip from the well of ideas they have yet to plumb.
ANNA MCCLELLAN
Anna McClellan’s childhood summers were spent in front of the TV, cementing a love of narrative that would later reveal itself through songwriting. By seventeen, Anna McClellan was performing original songs in her hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. Her debut album, Fire Flames, garnered attention and earned her an opening slot on a Frankie Cosmos tour, setting the stage for her subsequently adored albums, 2018’s Yes and No and I saw first light, released in late 2020. Now, with her forthcoming fourth album Electric Bouquet, McClellan crafts a musical journey that unfolds like one of her cherished television series. Each track is an episode, chronicling the past four years of her life – navigating electrician school, a cross-country move, and relationships gone sour. Electric Bouquet showcases McClellan’s ability to transform life’s myriad experiences into captivating musical stories. Recorded in multiple sessions in Baltimore, MD and Omaha and co-produced with long-time collaborator Ryan McKeever and Another Recording Company Studios engineer Adam Roberts, Electric Bouquet shifts seamlessly between piano-driven melodies and guitar-anchored anthems, each song a miniature universe slowly opening unto itself.

WARMDUSCHER
When most bands get round to releasing album number live their sound, weighed down by expectation or having resorted to formula, has generally ossified. It might still sound good and fans will probably lap it up, but the days of adventure and exploration are quite often long gone. Warmduscher are not most bands. Rather than closing up shop, on album number five – the magical Too Cold To Hold – they are most determinedly opening up. Taking on board the repetitive and polyrhythmic grooves of gqom (an alluring South African take on house music), adding in a dash of hip hop flavours and even jazz, and then harnessing that to their punk-funk, disco pogo, it’s a spellbinding mix that results in their best and most ambitious album to date. You could say they – the wonderful 12-legged groove machine comprised of Clams Baker Jr., Benjamin Romans Hopcraft, Adam J. Harmer, Marley Mackey, Quinn Whalley, and Bleu Ottis Wright – were, in fact, just getting started.
AVISHAG COHEN RODRIGUES
New York based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and artist Avishag Cohen Rodrigues delivers a signature sound. Aloof, detached, and vulnerable – Rodrigues’ music is complex yet raw. With a range of genres in rock, low fi, dark electronic, noise, and experimental – Rodrigues weaves songs and stories with electric guitars dipped in synths, overflowing sound textures, and coy lyricism.

British Singer/Songwriter Ollie Wride (FM-84) returns to the stage announcing his biggest tour yet in support of his highly anticipated sophomore album “The Pressure Point”, marking his first major release with M3 Recordings. His US-solo debut in 2023 saw sold out performances at West Hollywood’s legendary Troubadour and Brooklyn’s Elsewhere. Now, Wride takes his unique brand of showmanship and modern nostalgia embarking upon a 23-date tour stretching across the UK and North America. Having burst onto the scene as part of FM-84 in 2016, Wride has continued to pen some of synthwave’s most popular tracks including: “Running in The Night”, “Never Stop” and “Stranger Love”, while his live performances have been proven to be energetic and mesmerising.

The Last Generation On Film is a Modern Rock Outfit from Philadelphia. Their music draws from a variety of influences including electro-pop, funk, chillwave and dance music with an Alternative Rock core and their sound has been compared to A Flock Of Seagulls, Duran Duran, and Glass Animals. Formed in 2014 by Jeff Familetti (vocals, keys, guitar) and Ryan Bayler (keys, guitar) as a synth pop duo, the band recently went through some dramatic changes with the addition of two new members, Joe Tockett (Drums) and Cameron Kynett (Bass).&nbsp; As a result, the group’s sound has blossomed, a shift that has garnered local attention and resulted in a feature as one of WXPN’s Local Picks, as well as a prime spot on the lineup for 2nd Street Festival. &nbsp; The group is currently in the process of recording their third EP, “Repercussions.” &nbsp;Their first two EPs, “Repetitions” &nbsp;and “Reflections,” were recorded at Headroom Studios by Mark Watter and are currently available for streaming online. &nbsp;

SUN JUNE
The first two minutes of Sun June’s third album, Bad Dream Jaguar, is a reverie – Laura Colwell’s voice floats above a slow-burn, sparse synth, conjuring a tipsy loneliness, a hazy recollection, a disco ball spinning at the end of the night for an empty dance floor. Sun June’s music often feels like a shared memory – the details so close to the edge of a song that you can touch them. And as an Austin-based project, their music has also always felt strangely and specifically Texan – unhurried, long drives across an impossible expanse of openness, refractions shimmering off the pavement in the heat. But on Bad Dream Jaguar, Sun June is unmoored. The backdrop of Texas is replaced by longing, by distance, by transience, and a quiet fear. The only sense of certainty comes from the murky past. It’s a dispatch from aging, when you’re in the strange in-between of yourself: there’s a clear image of the person you once were and the places you inhabited, generational curses and our families, but the future feels vast, unclear – and the present can’t help but slip through your fingers.
DAN WRIGGINS
Dan Wriggins is a Philadelphia-based songwriter, musician, and poet. He grew up in the town of Yarmouth, Maine, and on Islesford, a small island community near Bar Harbor. In high school, he started playing piano and guitar, and met bandmates Michael Cormier and Peter Gill. He worked on lobster fishing boats before moving to Philadelphia and starting the alt-country band Friendship in 2015, now signed to Merge Records, with whom he has toured the US and Canada extensively. He lives and sometimes tours with his dog, Roy.
