PIERRE BENSUSAN THE INFINITE GUITAR TOUR 2026“It’s like the guitar has been given free rein to play itself.”Experience an intimate evening with Pierre Bensusan, one of the world’s most celebrated acoustic guitarists, composers, and musical innovators.Known internationally as “Mister DADGAD,” Bensusan has spent more than five decades redefining what a single acoustic guitar can do. Blending folk, jazz, classical, Celtic, world music, improvisation, and his own unmistakable musical language, he creates performances that can feel at once deeply intimate and remarkably orchestral. His accolades include the Rose d’Or at the Montreux Festival, Best World Music Guitarist in Guitar Player Magazine’s Readers’ Poll, and an Independent Music Award for his acclaimed triple live album Encore. Since beginning his career in France in the 1970s, Bensusan has performed approximately 4,000 concerts around the world, released 16 albums, and sold more than half a million records. His influence reaches across generations and genres. Michael Hedges famously titled a composition “Bensusan” in his honor, while artists including Tommy Emmanuel, Pat Metheny, Mark Knopfler, Steve Vai, Leo Kottke, Larry Coryell, Tuck Andress, Andrew York, Steve Lukather, and Andy Timmons have praised his artistry. His collaborations have ranged from Donny Osmond and Jordan Rudess to Gene Parsons and Yoko Kanno’s Cowboy Bebop. At the center of it all is Bensusan alone with his Lowden guitar—and, at times, his rich and expressive voice. No band. No excess. Just an extraordinary musician whose command of melody, harmony, rhythm, and open tuning can make one instrument sound like an entire musical world. The Infinite Guitar Tour 2026 is a rare opportunity to experience a true master of the instrument in the kind of intimate setting his music was made for.“With only his steel-string acoustic guitar—and sometimes his rich, affecting voice—Mr. Bensusan can disassemble your heart and hand it back to you restored and renewed.” — James Volpe Rotondi, Guitar Player Magazine

PSILY is part vinyl worship, part full-tilt rock radio adrenaline, glittered with candied ear worms. PSILY is when Blake Braley and Tristan Hart Pierce (Allen Stone Band) drop the needle with Cary Beare and Michael Koep (The RUB) and rip a hole in the time-space continuum, firing a glam-soul-psych-rock revival straight into your brainstem. There’s something reincarnate —something like possession. Think Bowie wielding a guitar made of lightning. Think Prince piloting the starship P FLOYD. Think Lennon brewing tea over a Marshall amp on fire. Freddie Mercury dancing in a mirror that remembers the future. Equal parts precision, theater, and beautiful chaos. Emerald Keys is an afternoon of music shaped by transition—by moments when familiar structures fall away and something truer begins to surface. Drawing together traditional Irish and Scottish airs with the deeply personal music of Frédéric Chopin, this program explores what it means to carry one’s homeland within, even when standing between chapters. Irish folk music, born of migration and memory, speaks in the language of departure and return; Chopin’s works—written far from Poland—translate those same emotions into some of the most intimate and searching music ever composed for the piano. At the heart of the program is Chopin’s Ballade No. 4, a work of extraordinary narrative depth—music that does not resolve quickly or easily, but unfolds like a life in motion. It is framed by beloved Celtic melodies such as The Rising of the Moon, ’Tis the Last Rose of Summer, and Garryowen, alongside reimaginings by Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, revealing how folk song and classical tradition continually speak to one another across time and distance. Emerald Keys arrives at a moment of change for the artists on stage—a threshold between chapters. Much like the music itself, the concert honors what has been while opening space for what comes next. The piano remains a place of home, storytelling, and truth when the ground beneath shifts. DedicationThis concert is dedicated to all who live in the in-between: those rebuilding after a sudden change, and those shaped by diaspora—families and individuals who have crossed borders by choice or necessity, carrying language, memory, and love for a homeland that may feel both near and impossibly far. In a time when migration is often discussed in headlines, today’s concert offers something older and more human: the sound of longing, resilience, and belonging—made music. Whether you come for the lyricism of Chopin, the soul of Celtic song, or the shared experience woven between them, Emerald Keys offers an afternoon of beauty, honesty, and quiet resolve. Where green hills meet black-and-white keys—and music becomes a way forward. Reception with refreshments to follow. **Ticket Prices:** - General: $40 - Patron: $80 (premium reserved seating, recognition in printed program) - Student: $15 **Performers:** Archie Chen & Rhona Gouldson-Chen, with guest artists: Rebecca Soderberg, Violin Michael Cruite, Pipes & Tin Whistle

Emerald Keys: Music at a Crossroads

Centered around the old-soul, observational storytelling of Matt Mitchell, who lives full time out of an imported Japanese bus, MMMC brings Mitchell’s tunes to life in solo, acoustic duo/trio and full on, electrified band configurations. Mitchell's songs are equal parts clever, quick-witted and heartbreakingly confessional, (oftentimes all at once) translating well both in attentive listening rooms and rowdy rock halls. If ‘The Band’ took a road trip to Laurel Canyon and pulled their tour bus over to pick up John Prine hitching his way down the pacific coastline, their rolling jam sessions might sound a little like Matt Mitchell Music Co.
